We have a MPV5 Hoveround that needs batteries and 2 new motors. The batteries are approx $250 from local battery store and the motors are $600 each from Hoveround plus approx $150 for tech to come from Peoria to replace them. This would be a lot cheaper than buying even a used one. The upholstery is in very good condition with just one small tear on the back. It has a cupholder, oxygen tank holder, and headrest. These are extra $ when you order a chair.
It would also be a good replacement seat if yours is worn. We know how to take it off and put it on. Wheels are also good.
Things to keep in mind when purchasing a used motorized chair:
Batteries have a life of approx. 12-24 months. Batteries might be at the end of their life, and sellers might not have any proof of how old they are. You might soon be purchasing new batteries.
Little lights are codes that show what's wrong. That's how we found out this chair needs new motors. If you're buying a used chair, you need to know how to read these codes to make sure everything's okay or you could soon be purchasing new motors. This chair is only 4 years old and the motors died. We've been told 4-5 years is typical lifespan of these motorized chairs that get moderate use.
